INTEGRATED REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE: DRIVING BAC NINH'S LONG-TERM APPEAL

Located at the heart of the Hanoi capital region, bordering Hanoi and serving as a key gateway to northern industrial hubs, Bac Ninh is steadily reinforcing its role as a major growth pole for industry, services and urban development in the region.

Currently, Bac Ninh is simultaneously implementing a series of nationally significant transportation projects, creating a fundamental shift in regional connectivity and economic spatial value. These projects include:

• The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project
  
  
• The Ring Road 4 - Hanoi capital region project
  
  
• The connecting road from Gia Binh airport to Hanoi (Bac Ninh section)
  
  
• The Gia Binh international airport project, along with related infrastructure developments

The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway serves as a strategic transportation axis, linking the Northern economic corridor to Vietnam’s seaport system. The section passing through Bac Ninh province has a total length of approximately 3.76 km. 

At present, the project investor is carrying out site clearance for resettlement areas, completing project documentation and submitting it for appraisal to prepare for construction implementation. Once completed, this railway project will significantly enhance logistics capacity and international trade connectivity for Bac Ninh province.

In parallel, the Ring Road 4 - Hanoi capital region project is being fast-tracked, opening up new development space for industrial parks, urban areas and real estate in Bac Ninh. The Ring Road 4 project spans 112.8 km, passing through Hanoi, Hung Yen and Bac Ninh, connecting major expressways such as Hanoi - Lao Cai and Noi Bai - Ha Long. The section within Bac Ninh province extends 35.3 km.

Beyond alleviating urban traffic congestion, this ring road creates favorable conditions for investment capital to shift toward satellite areas that offer larger land reserves, more competitive costs, and increasingly well-developed infrastructure.

In addition to road and rail infrastructure, Bac Ninh is making a strong mark with a flagship aviation project. The Gia Binh International Airport is planned on an area of nearly 2,000 hectares, located approximately 40 km from central Hanoi. As a nationally important infrastructure project, the airport is expected to become a vital gateway connecting Bac Ninh with major domestic and international economic centers.

The connecting road from Gia Binh Airport to Hanoi, within Bac Ninh Province, has a total planned length of approximately 27.7 km. The provincial government has issued an implementation plan outlining specific tasks to ensure the project is completed before December 31, 2026.

Together, the airport and its connecting road are expected to create a major breakthrough in international connectivity, particularly benefiting high-tech manufacturing, electronics and logistics industries - sectors that represent Bac Ninh’s core strengths.

The simultaneous implementation of these major transportation projects not only shortens travel time and reduces logistics costs, but also directly redefines the valuation of Bac Ninh’s real estate market, especially in industrial, logistics and satellite urban segments.

In the medium and long term, a well-integrated regional transportation network will continue to serve as a critical foundation for Bac Ninh to attract sustainable investment capital, strengthening its position as a leading industrial and service center within the Hanoi Capital Region and Northern Vietnam.
