On December 12th, at the Central Party Headquarters, right after the official reception, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, held talks with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

On December 12th, at the Central Party Headquarters, immediately following the official welcome ceremony, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong, held talks with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed joy and a warm welcome to General Secretary, President of China, Xi Jinping, along with his spouse and the high-level delegation of the Party and the State of China on their state visit to Vietnam.

In an atmosphere of friendship, goodwill, sincerity, and openness, the two leaders engaged in an in-depth discussion about the situation of each party and each country, the bilateral relationship between the two parties and two countries, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once again extended congratulations and highly praised the historic significance and important milestone of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China, which established the pivotal position of Comrade General Secretary, President Xi Jinping, and the guiding role of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

General Secretary Trong congratulated China under the strong leadership of General Secretary, President Xi Jinping, for achieving significant new accomplishments since the 20th Congress. He expressed his confidence that the Chinese Party, State, and people would fulfill the objectives and tasks set at the 20th Congress, successfully realize the second centenary goal, and build China into a modern socialist country that is prosperous, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful.

President Xi Jinping warmly congratulated and highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements in nearly 40 years of renovation, especially the significant and comprehensive results in implementing the resolutions of the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, promoting comprehensive strength, and continuously enhancing international influence and position. President Xi Jinping expressed his belief that under the steadfast leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Party, State, and people of Vietnam will certainly achieve the great goals and tasks set at the 13th Congress, creating a crucial premise for the successful realization of the two 100-year goals outlined by the 13th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Both leaders jointly evaluated the 15 years since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership between the two countries in 2008. With the motto of "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, and good partners," cooperation in various fields has made positive and comprehensive progress, and the bilateral relationship between the two Parties and two countries continues to expand and deepen.

Both sides agreed to enhance substantive cooperation in defense and security, making it one of the pillars of the bilateral relationship; to boost sustainable and in-depth economic, trade, and investment cooperation; to strengthen education on the traditional relationship between the two Parties and two countries, promoting a solid social foundation for the bilateral relationship; and to increase closer multilateral coordination for the mutual benefit of both countries and contribute actively to the common interests of the international community.

After the high-level talks, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary, President Xi Jinping jointly reviewed and were introduced to 36 cooperative agreements in various fields signed between ministries, agencies, and localities of the two countries, showcasing the rich and comprehensive achievements attained during this visit.
